Celebrating Womenhood...

This is supposed to be a post about "celebrating womanhood"... from a person of the female persuasion who knows for a fact that we are the better sex, and "mankind" would never survive long without us... lol. So, every day is, "Celebrate Women Day" (in my silly mind, anyway), and what better way to celebrate than by joining in the monthly UWIB Blog Hop! Put back on those Easter Bunny feet, and hop  through this months participant's offerings... you might find something pretty, or useful or just gosh-darn-gotta-have!

I celebrate my womanhood every day, by doing those things I'm best at... nurturing my family, cooking like a demon and making pretty, feminine jewelry.

Do you celebrate? How do you celebrate? Do you even care? (yeah, that one is for the guys ;))

Spring... sigh...

"Spring" is the theme for the UWIB blog hop this month, but I'm having a tough time coming up with something to blog about.

It's hard to think about Spring when the morning shows frost on the grass and temps in the 30's... but the birdies are still singing up a storm, and the sun rises bright in a blue, blue sky. I know it's getting here... just in tiny steps.

These are NOT the birds who sing, but they're all over the place around here. ;)

Yes, it snowed the other day... snow does not obey the stop sign!

This is actually a hard time of the year for me... I'm prone to depression in the spring. I feel tired all the time, and I'm cold, and definitely lazy, so even though I have plenty of things I should be doing, or making, I'm eating and sleeping too much... is that what spring fever is?

I know it's not much, but I DID at least change my blog background to look more "springy". ;)

So, I know this is kind of rambling/blathering, but my fellow UWIB gals are a great bunch, and I'm gonna go and visit their blogs and see what they've come up with. :)

Have a look, they're all listed right here.

Local Cape Cod Handmade Talent!

"Cape Cod Here I Come!" is the apt title of this gorgeous treasury...

This beautiful treasury was put together by Judith S. from Market 1

It's made up of members of the Team Cape Cod (tcape) on Etsy. We are a new team of Etsy sellers who call Cape Cod home, whether full time residents, visitors or one time residents.

Can't you just smell the ocean and feel those cool ocean breezes?

Take a moment to click to the treasury and leave some comments, and maybe purchase some local handmade goodies from these talented Cape Cod artisans. :)

Doin' up Something Green with the UWIB Blog Hop!

A bunch of the ladies over at UWIB - Unique Women in Business have put together their first monthly blog hop, and the theme for this month is "Something Green"... click through the list for some great posts!

and (unofficially) me...

Though I'm not officially a part of this month's hop (I didn't want to commit, and then find I didn't have the time to do the work), I'm happy to promote my fellow UWIB gals. :) So have a look at their blogs, and their "green" goodies.

While I'm at it, here are a couple of  greenies from my Etsy shop...

These adorable earrings feature re-purposed puzzle pieces

Not only is the color green part of these whimsical earrings, they ARE "green" by saving pieces from an incomplete puzzle that was headed for the trash...and they're so cute!

re-cycled vintage beads rings

Once again, "green" re-cycled beads, reclaimed from some broken vintage jewelry and refashioned into wire wrapped rings... more cuteness! ;)

Have a great day!
